Spanish teacher, poet and journalist
A different way to learn

About me
My name is Carolina Samper Hiraldo and I am a Spanish teacher, journalist, and poet. I graduated with a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1996, with a master's degree in Journalism from the ABC newspaper and the Complutense University of Madrid in 1998. I recently completed an Executive Master's in Public Administration, specializing in Global Governance, at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany. Before working as a Spanish teacher, I worked as a journalist, communications consultant, team coordinator, and advisor to local and regional governments.
I have been reading and writing poetry since I was eight years old. I collaborate with American collage artist Maureen Letton (@Intention.florist) and Portuguese photographer Elsa Arrais (@elsa.arrais) on an interartistic project called 5 6 9. I have published three of my poems in the international photography and writing project Fotografar palavras, which originated in Portugal.
My Spanish Where from?
I have a classic Castilian accent, which could be said to come from many parts of Spain. I was born in Pamplona, in the north, in 1974. I lived in Valencia until I was 18, then in Madrid until I was 30, when I moved to Linares, in Andalusia, where I still live, although as a digital professional, I spend time in Valencia and Motril, in the Andalusian province of Granada.

Close support and conscious learning
I am very interested in the diversity of Spanish in all Spanish-speaking countries. It is fascinating how all Spanish speakers understand each other and, at the same time, we have such different terms and expressions depending on our countries and regions of reference. In short, I learn Spanish every day, just as you may be learning it right now by reading these words.
